The Board of Trustees at Oklahoma City Community College hosted a Summer White Party celebrating the tenure of President Paul Sechrist, who is retiring after 20 years at the college, 10 of which he served as president. The party was held at the home of Tony and Misti Arango of Edmond, and included members of the Board of Regents, Board of Trustees, political dignitaries, endowment and scholarship donors, and many friends.

Edmond Women’s Club Awards Banquet

The Edmond Women’s Club announced its 2015 Grant Recipients at a recent awards banquet. Some of the non-profit organizations receiving grants include Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Wings: A Special Needs Community, UCO Endeavor Games, Boys Ranch Town, Edmond Mobile Meals, HeartLine, Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma and Horse Feathers Equine Center. EWC is a volunteer organization whose membership is made up of community-spirited women who promote the cultural, civic, educational and community efforts of the City of Edmond.

OMRF Wine Festival

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band was on hand for the OMRF wine festival benefiting heart attack and stroke research in Oklahoma. Food and fine wine was served alongside the live entertainment at the OMRF Research Tower, followed by a golf tournament Monday morning at the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. It was two events for one great cause!

The Oklahoma Zoological Society hosted its annual no-tie fundraising gala at the Oklahoma City Zoo, and included a silent auction and live music by Drive performed under Grandma’s Porch. Dinner was catered by some of the Zoo’s favorite restaurants, including The Mantel, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Old Germany Restaurant, West and Mustang Brewing. The event, for adults only, featured a specialty drink – the “Zootini.” A Great Cause. A Wild Time. All proceeds to benefit the Joan Kirkpatrick Animal Hospital.
